Free children's books

As I am writing this I am holding my 2 month old daughter in my left arm and I am typing with my right. My wife & I have a tradition of reading our daughter a book before we put her to bed at night and even though we have more than 30 books for her we have already started doubling back and reading the same ones again. I did research and found a great site that has free children's books available online because I just knew I would go crazy reading GOODNIGHT MOON over and over. Freekidsbooks.org has a bunch of books available for FREE and they are categorized as books for toddlers, children or young adults. All you have to do is pick the book you want and download the free PDF.

Free Jigsaw puzzles online

Do you like jigsaw puzzles? I like to work jigsaw puzzles once in a while, but the worst part is getting to the end and finding out you're missing a piece. Thanks to Jigzone.com you can work puzzles online choosing 6 - 247 piece puzzles. You can also choose the shapes of the pieces from a list of over 30. Another cool feature is the timer that is going on the side bar, it lists the fastest time and the average time of completion and next to that is a clock letting you know your time. So if you're like me (very competitive) you may end up looking at the clock as much as the board. There are hundreds of puzzles to choose from; holiday puzzles to sports. You can pick a picture out and literally by changing the cut of the pieces you can work the same puzzle 30 different times and all will seem new again. If you are in need of a free way to waste some time, this site is for you.

My fitness pal / Weight loss made easy

Natalie, my wife, loves sparkpeople.com to keep track of her weight loss and chat with other people who are also trying to lose weight to motivate each other. Spark people has great exercise videos and workout regimens. I am also am a member of Sparkpeople, but I use Myfitnesspal to track my calorie intake. Myfitnesspal is really easy to use; it has about any kind of food you can imagine already in the system and a great app for your iphone that is absolutely free and works flawlessly with the online website so you can post on the go or at home on your laptop. Another cool feature of the myfitnesspal app is that you can take a picture of the barcode of a packaged food and all the nutrition facts come up and it will automatically deduct that from your daily allowed calories. Myfitnesspal will also give you more calories depending on your workout for the day and it also has a social media aspect where you can chat and keep up with friends and challenge each other in this weight loss battle.

Holiday TV shows

My wife Natalie & I love watching Christmas movies this time of year. We have a large collection of over 30 holiday classics that we watch year after year. A few days ago while Natalie was baking pumpkin bread for all our friends I decided to try something different. I went onto YouTube and searched "Christmas TV shows" and after playing around a little bit I found a bunch of full episodes of classic TV shows Christmas episodes. We watched Mr. Ed, Donna Reed, Married with Children, Home improvement, & Roseanne. It was fun to see old TV shows celebrating Christmas. Since this was on YouTube these clips may not be around forever, so I suggest trying YouTube first then also Google searching. I am sure you will find plenty to choose from. Movie mess ups / bloopers

Growing up my dad owned a video rental store and I felt as though I lived in the movies. When I was younger I loved hearing stories of movies set in mid-evil times and an actor or extra left his watch on, or as in the movie Days of Thunder Nicole Kidman calls Tom Criuse by his real name during a scene instead of his character's name; I love stuff like that. I know I wrote a blog about IMDB.com before, but for this reason alone I feel as though this may get you to check out the site if you have not been there before. IMDB stands for Internet Movie Data Base. All you need to do is type in the movie you are looking for and check out what they have listed as bloopers. I enjoy using this feature on classic movies I have seen tons of times and I feel as though I am watching the movie all over again with new eyes. Check it out I think you will enjoy it.

Free online zombie game

Last night was Halloween and as I was trolling around the internet for something to do in between trick or treaters I stumbled upon this game. The name of the game is DEADLY CITY SURVIVAL. I am not a big fan of first person games but I had a lot of fun with this one. It is super easy to play and the game sucks you in right away. I hope you enjoy it!
